When i learn the amazing benefits of this plant years ago i walked around our subdivision to see if there are wild Gotu Kola that grew along the sidewalk and i did found. I ask the spirit of the place to get some and be replanted in our house. When i have able to multiply it, i taught to my mother its wonderful benefit to her health. And she was amazed by its powers and how it help her that she recommend it also to our neighbors and friends. As she continue to recommend it to our neighbors our Gotu Kola get exhausted. I tried to save some but it did not become successful.

But it seems people learned the importance of this plant that they kept it inside their yard. So i ended up looking for it on a Garden Shop. But this plant where i now grow is i bought beside Quiapo Church in Manila. It cost me Php 100.00 for this plant. And gladly i am growing it that we can make medicine out of it.

Gotu Kola or Takip Kuhol leaves can be eaten as a Salad. So every morning as we woke up, we pick 7 to 9 leaves of Gotu Kola and wash it over tap water and eat it. According to researcher, Gotu Kola has amazing healing properties such as:

Since Hilot deals with the Life Force with every individual, throughout the ages people thought that Hilot involved Spirituality. Indeed that Hilot is the gift of the Divine to Humanity, so it is appropriate for the practitioner to give credit to the Diwata or Divinity that gave Hilot to the world. There are some people who will neglect this part on giving Hilot but when they do it will not become Hilot anymore. It will just be like any ordinary massage where you can have in Spa or Massage Center.

The Teachings of Hilot requires Discipline as it teach each individual practitioner to provide Hope and Happiness, Inspiration, Love, Optimism and Trust. With these virtues that Hilot shares to the world, one must also build up relationship to the Ancient Filipino God who teach Hilot to our Ancestors. During the Sharing Time with our French Students weeks ago, i have realized that we as Filipino are blessed enough that even we undergo through colonization we have managed to preserved our identity and have brought Hilot to the modern world. As i meditate on this realization, i found out that our Love for our Ancestors made Hilot to survive the force of colonization and change in our country. It is also through our resistance, our Ancestors have fought for our Freedom and liberation. Hilot have survived as it has been passed by our ancestors to their children. It has not been taught academically but through practical application or actual giving of hilot to treat illness that it have come into our present time.

Now-a-days the Medicine of Hilot is struggling again with the rise of Modern Medicine and Commercialism. The new world adopts Hilot and have brought wrong information to the world that Hilot is the Filipino Massage whereas Massage is just one of the many modality that Hilot does. Commercialism breaks down Hilot and disregard the Spirituality of Hilot. Educational Institution standardize the practice of Hilot and it was categorized under Massage because it can be a great source of income opportunity. Whereas in fact Massage Industry in the whole world is already suffering with the infection of prostitution in its practice as some practitioners have entered the personal zone of limitation and also have disregard the barriers of professionalism and personal ambitions.

Even by parts we have shared to you the Ancient Healing Methods of our ancestors. Indeed as we have discussed that our techniques might not be recognized by the allopathic doctors to be an exact science on determining the cause of illness but we can guarantee that learning Hilot Pulsuhan, Bentusa and Pahid can be a preventive healthcare modality that can maintain your optimum health and wellness.

Our Duty as Manghihilot is not a mundane work that need to be standardized by the Mundane Government that need to secure National Certification or License but only by the calling and ordination of God.

Effectiveness of Guava Leaves Tea

Remember our August 8, 2019 post about Guava Leaves? Here we got result. I received a private message thanking us for our post and testifying how the Guava Leaf tea help her in her problem.

“Thank you for posting information about the use of Guava Leaves Tea. It is Effective! I thought I will be sent to the Hospital as I suspect that I got Dengue as I don’t like to see doctors and Hospital. So I boil guava leaves. Kilubansa as a Powerful tool

Early this morning i had conversation with one of our graduates testifying to the greatness of Kilubansa as a tool.

We had a nice insight this morning about kilubansa. She realised that most of our name come from our ancestors meaning that we inherit most of our bodies from our ancestors. Kilubansa put in light the problems that can emerge from this body and it’s up to us to reverse to “bad” side of the body and keep the circle of “I inherited this so, there is nothing I can do about it”.Such a powerful tool!

And he continue to testify:

Reading the kilubansa of a friend who has: Air: 0, fire: 4, water: 2, earth: 5 I saw that what we do and it can help us balance. Because this friend used to have asthma until I started to go a lot surfing in the ocean. So the contact of water and the fact of swimming a lot helped him enhance air and water element. And since then, we doesn’t have any asthma!

and my response was:

Wow! Yes that is great too. Since Water is the Mother of Air and its Father is Fire. Activity in the Water is like Water + Fire put together that will produce air. i am seeing this person as a young child to be thin and weak. but as he grow and engage in activity he develop immunity that strengthen him.

Indeed that the Medicine of our Ancestors are coming back to us. Through Hilot Academy of Binabaylan, the people of the next Generation will still enjoy and benefit from our Ancestral Medicine which is indigenous to our Country.

The power behind the oil of manghihilot

Throughout the ages, the common Filipino people have a bottle of Healing Oil kept in their home altar. Within these bottle relies the health and life of their Family. Whenever a family member is in pain or have illness, the bottle of oil is used to be applied on the person to invoke healing to come and make the person whole again. This bottle of oil also becomes a detector if there are some evil forces nearby their home. It is seen that the oil inside the bottle will become bubbly, or the outside surface of the bottle has moist as if the oil spilled out or even the oil inside the bottle is boiling. In our Old Tradition, the Powerful healing oil should be made by a Babaylan who is also a Healer. It is done during the Full Moon of Friday during Holy Week. For about a month, the healer gather all the it’s ingredients in the mountain and on the time of the Full Moon he will cook it as he invoke the power of the God to be present as he make the Holy Oil. From the concocted oil, Life and Death will bow down to all who possess this sacred oil.

In this video as you can see, you can dip your hands into a boiling hot healing oil while making it and will not burn you. Since it is made of freshly picked and pounded organic herbs, you will feel its hot but it will not burn you because of the healing and cooling effect of the herbs.

Guava leaves are used by our ancestors to wash our wounds that serve as disinfectant. Washing our wounds with the concoction of guava leaves hasten wound healing. Italian Hilot Guaritore

Meeting new people around the world provides a venue for learning opportunity. And the best learning experience you will have is when you live together at home. Our own Home is the first School every individual have. This is where our behavior is first formed and molded. In our own home is where we receive first love and care that we treasure most. We receive our life lesson from our Mother and Father, so as to our brother and sister and other relatives. They become our role model in living our life.

Hilot is an experiential modality of healing rather than academic. It’s method are learned not through theories and scholarly manner but through experience. It is first passed down by the Divinity to the Babaylan; and the Babaylan to the Community. In every Filipino Home, there is one who usually stand as a Healer in the Family and mostly the mothers. Indeed in our Home, my Mother is our Healer. And now that she have crossed the veil, it is now my turn to continue the Healing Tradition of Hilot in our Family. And as a mission in preserving our Hilot, I am sharing it to the world as my Legacy of love to mankind.

Hilot as we all know it here is the Philippine Traditional Medicine. Indeed it is from the Philippines but its practice is not limited to the Filipino only. The wisdom of Hilot is not about the actual application of the procedures but the Discipline and Wisdom of the practitioner to provide love and care. In sharing our Love and Care does not require us to have a highest educational Diploma or Title, but only our willingness to share. Yes Sharing is the right term instead of giving or providing. Because when we share Hilot, we do not need have to be empty handed unlike in giving you totally left nothing for you. In sharing all of us enjoy the benefit of Hilot. We do not take the illness nor give our power but we share it to one another to improve ourselves, our health and our life.

This is what we experience with our Ayurvedic Therapist from Turin, Italy. We share our Hilot to him as he also share his Art and Healing Modality to us. Agar Agar is our newest Hilot Binabaylan from Turin, Italy. He took our lesson on the 23rd of July that he completed on the 29th of July 2019. He will go back to Italy on the 31st of July so we all wish him Buon Viaggio.

What can you see? What story does it tell?

A Japanese artist went to me for Hilot. So i give her Hilot and start with Tawas Ritual. I prepare a glass of water and raw egg and start to pray and make the egg touch the body parts of the client which are the gate way for the soul. After prayer i break gently the egg into the glass of water and it started to form shape so as telling its stories.

Raw Egg broken into a glass of water is a divinatory method that is categorized as Scrying. The raw egg and the glass of water is the medium and the interpreter is the channel for the messages of the soul (higher and lower self of the client) whom the Manghihilot have contacted to communicate with.

Each shape that been formed in the glass tell specific stories. Even the way how the egg is brocken tells specific areas of the clients life. Each stories may refer to situations, and each situations may tell the condition of the wellness of the client where the manghihilot must determine which body organs radiating that situation.

Tawas is not just a Divinatory Art that tells a story. Because the story that been told by tawas is your own story which the Manghihilot would channel to locate the areas in your life that needs attention.
