About

Who We Are

Welcome to the Hilot Academy of Binabaylan, a sovereign educational sanctuary and spiritual ministry operating under the legal stewardship of Bahay SiAdTala Binabaylan Inc. and Templong Anituhan Inc. We are a center for higher ecclesiastical learning dedicated to the Landas ng Lahi (the path of our ancestors), training the next generation of spiritual leaders to serve their communities with integrity and compassion.

Our Vision

To see the ancestral wisdom of Hilot Binabaylan globally recognized, preserved, and practiced not merely as a commercial therapeutic modality, but as a holistic, life-giving spiritual tradition and a profound source of indigenous Filipino pride.

Our Mission

To preserve, elevate, and promote Philippine Indigenous Traditional Healing Arts and Sciences by providing rigorous ecclesiastical education and ministerial ordination. We are dedicated to restoring the physio-psycho-emotional and socio-spiritual harmony of our kapwa by passing down the sacred rituals, philosophies, and healing methodologies of our Ancestors.

Our Core Values

Everything we teach and practice is anchored in these indigenous principles:

  • Kapwa (Shared Identity): We believe in the interconnectedness of all life. Healing is not a transaction; it is a sacred exchange of trust and responsibility between the healer, the seeker, and the community.
  • Pamana (Ancestral Heritage): We are fiercely dedicated to preserving the Landas ng Lahi. We honor the lineage of our ancestors by ensuring their rituals and wisdom are passed down with authenticity and reverence.
  • Kalinga (Sacred Compassion): As taught by our elders, healing is an expression of love. We approach every individual with empathy, gentle hands, and a pure heart, viewing our practice as a profound duty of care.
  • Kasarinlan (Spiritual Sovereignty): We walk our own path. We protect our right to practice and teach our indigenous faith autonomously, guided by the Divine and protected by our constitutional rights.
  • Kagalingan (Holistic Excellence): We strive for the highest ecclesiastical and practical standards, addressing not just the physical body, but the energetic, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the whole person.

Our Hilot Lineage

“My gift of Hilot is a sacred inheritance passed down through generations. On my mother’s side, I come from a lineage of Tagalog healers—my mother herself was a local kumadrona (traditional nurse and midwife), known in our community for her gentle hands and intuitive care. From my father’s side, I carry the wisdom of the Manobo-Mamanwa traditions, where he practiced the healing arts of Binasaya and Mananambal. This convergence of ancestral knowledge—Tagalog and Lumad—flows through my hands and spirit, guiding my path as a Binabaylan and Hilot practitioner.

Hilot is more than a technique—it is a family healing tradition. As there are many families that form our country, each carries a unique style of Hilot, shaped by their own ways of caring and compassion. Even within indigenous communities, healing is deeply personal, passed down as a gesture of love. Just as we cannot regulate how a mother cares for her child, we cannot standardize Hilot. It is an expression of love, and love cannot be confined by rules or forms. To practice Hilot is to embody the spirit of caring, to listen with the heart, and to touch with intention.”

Our Ancestral Autonomy

Under the legal stewardship of Bahay SiAdTala Binabaylan Inc., we walk a sovereign path. We consciously choose to remain autonomous from secular vocational boards because Hilot Binabaylan is not a clinical procedure or a spa service—it is a sacred communion.

Our teachings are an inheritance passed down through generations of healers. To subject our ancestral rituals, orasyon, and anito communication to secular standardization would be to strip them of their soul. Instead, we answer to the Divine, the Ancestors, and the sacred needs of our kapwa.

Our Leadership

Rev. Rolando G. Comon, D.D.Min., IFS, IFM Chief Priest, Templong Anituhan Inc. & Founder, Hilot Academy of Binabaylan

Rev. Rolando serves as the guiding light of the Academy, bridging ancestral wisdom with formalized ecclesiastical education. Drawing from his rich Tagalog and Lumad heritage, he has dedicated his life to reclaiming the sacredness of indigenous Filipino spirituality. As a teacher and spiritual leader, he empowers practitioners to step into their calling with sovereignty, integrity, and a deep reverence for the Diwata and our Ancestors.
