The Ancient Arts and Sciences of Traditional healing are being stripped off from us by modernization. The advancement of our technology makes Hilot to become an alternative in the absence of Modern Medicine.

Before when an expectant mother is about to give birth, the family member will call a manghihilot to deliver the baby into birth. Now, this duty of Attending Birth has been stripped off from the manghihilot and given to the Registered Midwife.

Before when people need a powerful herb to cure their illness they will consult a manghihilot for prescription but now-a-days people will go to a Physician and Pharmacist for prescription that will only provide relief.

These are few of the many roles of a Manghihilot as a healthcare provider that been stripped off by modernization.

And now-a-days there is an upcoming threat to kill the work of Manghihilot, and we stand for Hilot to be preserved and be on the hands of the Filipino People.

Torn into pieces

There are illness of a person that a medical doctor could not see inspite of a thorough medical check up and procedure conducted to the individual to provide relief.

In this case, Filipino will consult a Traditional Healer which is a Hilot and ask for a cure.

Illness of a person does not always start in the Physical Body. Depending on the situation and present condition, the illness of a person may start either start on emotional, mental or even on a soul level.

The process of life which gives health to the individual starts from the mind which is the psyche; and Tawas works on the realms of Psyche to determine the root cause of illness not just the Physical limitions as a result of illness but also towards the realms of emotion and the mind.

The Manghihilot who perform tawas will journey to check on the Seven Souls which animate the Physical Body and retrieve them to bring back the optimum functioning of the persons life which we know as Health and Wellness.

Damit Tala

September 11,2018 we went early to the Office of Participatory Governance in Malacañang Palace to demonstrate Philipine Traditional Hilot.

We almost not be able to make it because the Palace Guard wont allow one of my companion to enter the ground because of a strict dress code.

Me and mam nina get panic because of the situation and we search for a nearby store just to buy pants so that we could proceed. But we dont find a store nearby.

But thanks to the Diwata, i’ve been reminded to bring malong. So i ask for a comfort room and we change our clothes there and wear the Damit Tala of Binabaylang Hilot.

Amazingly when we change our clothes, the strict palace guard allows us to enter the ground and honot the clothes we wear with highest respect.

Indeed, in order for Hilot to be respected with highest honor we must present our selves with descency and dignity. As Hilot, we do not just wear anything we want to wear, but we must be identified with highest honor through the clothing we wear.

Pre Natal Hilot

Before Massage Therapy adopts the sequence of Pre Natal pregnancy massage, our Manghihilot does it already.

Long time ago in the absence of Medical Professional, our Manghihilot takes the role of HeathCare experts.

People come to Hilot for all kinds of ailments. New couples that could not have baby will ask hilot to fix the conception problem of the couples not only to the woman but also to man.

During pregnancy after the first trimester, the expectant mother will come to hilot to relieve the pregnancy pain and also prevent the “pagka suhi” in delivery.

During the delivery, the Manghihilot is also there to attend on the birthing of the child.

Indeed, the role of the manhihilot in Family life is always visible because the manghihilot is always present from the conception, delivery, growing up, maturity, and even upto death.

Soul Level Healing

Binabaylan Hilot is a process of deep level healing which touch the soul of the client. As Hilot believe that some illness starts from the soul level.

On this picture, our client have difficulty in raising up her right arm. As we start giving her treatment, we call on her higher and lower self to guide us in her healing process. The paper tawas shows the reason why she have difficulty in raising up her right arms and it was connected to her emotions which was symbolized by the heart.

After confirming this to our client, we swipe away the negative thought form that dwells in her soul and give her hilot lunas by rubbing and kneading her arms and shoulders to release the blockages.

New Cover of Habi

I made a new cover for our Facebook page in Hilot Academy. The cover photo emphasize that Hilot is the Traditional and Natural Medicine of the Philippines.

As i have seen a facebook post with a content of then and now, it is said that Hilot is the former modality and now they are called Massage Therapist. I respectfully object the statement because Hilot is not a Massage.

Still many Filipinos are confused of what really hilot is that is why Hilot Academy is challenged to re introduce Hilot to the Filipino People.

I am making a powerpoint presentation so that we could share the knowledge about hilot with competence.

Each Hilot is Unique

Hilot are cultural worker and steward of the Earth. We are ordained by the Law of Nature and Universal law as care taker of its creation.

Most people see that we work on relieving pain of the People, but our work is not limited on relieving human pain and sufferings but we are bringing back the harmony in their lives by balancing the forces of nature that governs it.

Hilot is a Common People Medicine. It is not formulated and designed by a single individual or group of people, but it was passed down to us by our ancestors from generation to generations. As a Common people medicine, Hilot Techniques and methodology are unique from each tribe. Though different and unique from each other, the law of nature applies that we are all connected as magkakaugnay.

Standardization of techniques might violate the universal law of uniqueness as it will implement the superiority of one tribal technique and the other to be inferior.

All Hilot are equally potent and unique. Each methods are allowable as it will produce cure to the illness of mankind. What makes Hilot similar to each technique is that it works out to obtain common goal of bringing cure and restoring wellness to mankind.

The motivation of Hilot as a Healer is to heal which is to Help Enhance Alleviate Life from pain and suffering.

Hilot Forum held

Early this morning i attended a forum on Hilot Wellness Massage by Tesda Trainers and Assessors with regards to the implementing rules and regulation of training and assessment.

The Forum has been called in response to World Health Organization requirements in providing evidence that Hilot is a traditional and natural medicine that could be employed in primary health care.

As graduate of the Academy, i advise everyone to document all cases you handled with your clients. Record the development and improvement of their health issues using the modality you have learned. And during the forum we made distinction about hilot vs. massage as it will be applied to k12 program of DepEd and Ched.

So be reminded now that in Hilot we will not ask our client to undress. But will treat client with their clothes on and only expose the body part that need to be treated. Hilot massage is encouraged to be done on sitting and not lying down on bed.

Chilean Hilot Curador

I an advocate in moving Hilot to be recognize as the Traditional and Natural Medicine in the Philippines. This healing modality that we Filipino have is a National Treasure that we could be proud off. Though many people still have little understanding of what Hilot is all about, there should be someone from us need to stand to tell what real Hilot is all about.

Hilot as i always tell and becomes my battle cry that it is not a Massage but it is our very own Traditional and Natural Medicine in the Philippines; and when it is studied by a non Filipino it becomes Alternative and Natural Medicine.

As an advocate of Hilot in order for my message to be heard, i need to teach Hilot for a cost in order for Hilot to be popularized again. Spa and Massage center are giving Hilot a wrong reputation by making hilot like massage. Now-a-days even the freelance massuers claims to be a Hilot and even some massage professionals obtain National Certificate for Hilot Wellness Massage but not the Traditional and Natural Medicine itself.

Today, i am so proud to say to the world that our Hilot Binabaylan have produced a new practitioner that is native of Santiago, Chile and her name is Bernardita Montero.

Bernardita Montero or Ita as she want to be called is a Chilean Theater Artist, Dancer and a massage provider. She traveled to the Philippines to enhance her knowledge and skills in Natural Healing Arts and Science.

Ita took a course with us and become proficient in Pulse Reading, Tawas, Hilot Hygiene, Pagsasala, Bentusa and MasaHilot.

Bienvenido Ita!

Today is the first day of our Hilot Binabaylan Training for a Chilean National that will be our first Hilot Binabaylan who will serve the Republic of Chile.

Chile is a South American country with its capital and largest city known is Santiago. Chilean Nationals speak Spanish that makes Bernardita to be the First Chilean Hilot Binabaylan and second Spanish Speaking Hilot Curador.

Bernardita also known as Ita is a Chilean Actress, Dancer and Massuer. She studied Theater Arts and has compassion for Children that has Cancer.

On her first day, Ita works with Bonn Monzon our Sound Healer in doing Pulse Reading Analysis.

It is nice to see that the popularity of Hilot draws all nationality around the world to learn our very own Traditional Medicine and Ancient Healing Arts and Science.
