Yes when i mean “i live”, i make Hilot as a form of income generating livelihood where i provide my services for a reasonable fee. As a Hilot provider, i also need to maintain my life too.
Maintaining life is not only in the Physical sense but also through intellectual, emotional and social sense. The spirituality of Hilot makes these four other aspect in balance and harmony to one another.
Balancing the Physical to all other aspect of our being makes us whole.
Since Hilot is a powerful tool in maintaing life, let us use this method of healing with awe and respect. Hilot can promote Life but abusing the promotive powers of Hilot (massage) into sexual pleasure becomes destructive force in a form of lust thus becoming into prostitution.
Using this form of healing disqualify a practitioner of becoming hilot but instead he or she is better be called as a prostitute.
Since Hilot follows the Universal and Natural Law, those who give authentic Hilot can be found where the sunrises and they rest when the sunsets.
Hilot is a noble profession and a spirtual vocation, so let us not desecrate it by involving our craft into prostitution.
Still many people think that Hilot is a form of massage, even Filipino’s think that Hilot is just a Filipino Traditional Massage. But Hilot is not just massage and there is a big difference if you take authentic Hilot and massage.
So what is the Difference between Massage and Hilot?

It uses touch manipulation of effluerage, petrissage, friction, tapotment, vibration for hygeinic, aesthetic and therapueitc purpose; while Hilot is a Holistic Healing Arts that uses not only massage for diagnostic and therapuetic purposes.
Yes let us say that Hilot uses also massage, but the big difference of Hilot to regular massage is that hilot is not just following procedures and sequences, but prior to give hilot the therapist must know first the condition of the client by conducting examination and evaluation of the client through TAWAS (Traditional Alternative Wellness Analytic System) which if applient properly would lead to the right treatment of the problem thus obatining satisfiable result of Hilot.
HIlot does not only give massage if they learn the clients problem or concern they may employ other modality such as bentusa or herbal treatment to deal with the clients condition.
The success and effectivity of Hilot treatment relies on the knowledge and competency of the Hilot Provider not only in application of massage but also in his/her ability to determine the cause or reason why the client is suffering disorder.
And having the ability/ skills to read and analyze the clients pulse will help the hilot to provide a successful treatment.

A Hilot knows how to make their cliet happy. It is a hard work of personal contact in reshaping the mental and emotional imbalance of the client by the power of touch.
Touch manipulation imbueded with loving thought as the hand moves toward the surface of the skin. Controlling the pressure to light, moderate to hard pressure.
In Hilot Massage, all of these pressure must be conducted and be experienced by the client in order to achieve satisfactory result of wellness.
So in order to be happy, we must experience the different pressure that life is giving us and in the end of the session, we can go out of the treatment room with a smile in our face.
I am a Hilot Binabaylan. I do tawas or spiritual diagnosis before giving any treatment modality of hilot. It is important for me to understand first the cause of discomfort of the client so that we could properly address and implement cure to the illness of the client.
In Tawas (Traditional Alternative Wellness Analytic System), we see the cause of illness not only due to the limited movement of the body, but also in the mind and emotion as well. As Binabaylan, we become a channel to the voice of your inner self by interpreting the result of tawas through divination.
Divination is an art of seeking knowledge of the unknown; thus we have develop methods of gaining information through tawas. In the process of tawas i use, we employ fresh egg that i run around the persons energy field and break it in a glass of water to read the formation of its albumen. Through that we observe the yolk and the formation of albumen into distinctive shape and analyze it and synchronize to the persons current situation. With this, the binabaylan opens up conversation with the client and let the client tell his/her current situation in life.
Today during a Binabaylan Hilot session, my client open up to me her problem about marriage life. I will not give details of her problem but will just make an insight of what marriage means to me.
Since the Month of August is also one of the auspicious month in getting merried, be reminded that Marriage is about Love. It is an ultimate of expression of Love. It is also about starting to have a family and taking up role as husband and wife as well as becoming a Mother and Father. If we put some Math on the topic of Marriage; Marriage is about addition and multiplication and not subtraction and Division.
In Marriage, the one becomes two and the two becomes one. Two becomes one does not signify that only partner should dominate, but the two should share power as one. And actually, joining the two as one will give opportunity to multiply by having a children as a testimony of their love.
And aside from that if you are a female, in marriage you do not necessarily remove your name but instead you just add to your name the name of your husband; with this you dont become less but instead abundant.
