Medicine of the Common People

masahilot1 In this modern time getting ill is too expensive but not all people can afford modern health care treatment from the professionals that is why most common people turn to self medication or just enduring the pain they have.

One characteristics of Hilot as the traditional medicine of the common people is affordability, that is why in Hilot Academy of Binabaylan we are going to launch Masa Hilot or Hilot for the common people that everyone may receive it economically without compromising the quality of health care.

HABI promotes Hilot as the Traditional Medicine of the Philippines as it has its unique delivery of health care that is similar to the modern allopathic and conventional medicine. Hilot has preventive, promotive, therapeutic and rehabilitative delivery system that common people can afford.

The Philippine Traditional Hilot Medicine has its own way of determining the cause of illness or diagnostic method through tawas or Traditional Alternative Wellness Analytic System.

The Hilot methods of scanning cause of illness is not limited to tawas but it also employs pulse reading analysis, kapkap salat, pagsasala and bentusa. In Hilot we are not limited in employing massage as treatment modality, but we also use herbs, heat, light, water and therapeutic communication (orasyon) for counseling, regression and progression therapy.

Hearing our inner selves

Today we had a great time discussing our cultural healing arts as we perform Kilubansa Healing through pagpag and patong dampi ritual. Then we have discussed the 7ancestral powers and the 8 directions of the ancestors where an individual can strengthen their bond to their divine lineage.

In Hilot, communication is essential in providing the right treatment to our client thus we perform tawas spiritual diagnosis in determining the cause of illness whether it be physical, emotional, mental, social or spiritual cause.

We also have performed pulse reading as a means of communicating with our internal organs as our inner selves.

Fusing of Hilot and Yoga

Two days ago i recieved an email from a Yoga Guru that express her interest with Hilot as the traditional medicine of the Philippines.

March 15 is our first day of fusion. I started introducing Hilot by sharing the philosophies and principles of hilot as well as the concept of health, illness and wellness. I emphasize the concept of man and what is man made of.

After sharing it, i started the skills transfer by asking lakay alsent to demonstrate the traditional method of scanning illness which is Tawas.

JD our fellow healer already have background with Hilot as traditional massage but is interested in learning the Hilot Diagnostic Procedure which is Tawas.

After experiencing the procedure, she her self perform the tawas ritual to Mommy Rose.

Tomorrow, JD will experience Kilubansa Healing which consist of Pagpag Cleansing Ritual and Patong Dampi Ritual plus a review on the Hilot 5 elemental touch strokes.

Why do hilot Burp?

Remember as a Healer we heal and not absorber of negativity. The reason why some healers occationaly burb and worst is fart during the healing seasion is because the healer themselves are being healed during the session.

Healing is like filling the empty bucket with clean pure water until it reaches to the brim.

Energy is not created nor can be destroyed, but it can change form.

As a healer, we have the ability to transform negative (potential) energy into positve (active/kinetic) energy.

We can transform Hate into Love and fear into Peace.

Hilot is not Swedish Massage

haplos effluerage Last night, i had a conversation with a Massage Enthusiast over Facebook Messenger. In our conversation she have mentioned that at last she have found the Filipino Version of Swedish Massage through Hilot. She have said that because she saw in one of our video posted at Hilot Academy FB Page that we mention Hilot Haplos as equivalent to Effluerage of Swedish Massage.

Indeed we have mention it to our video that Hilot Haplos is equivalent to Effluerage of Swedish Massage, but it does not mean that Hilot is only limited to Massage. I have told our friend the difference of learning through online videos to live discussion. Because Learning through Videos are limited only to the task performed than on live in person learning we explain thoroughly the principles behind the techniques that been demonstrated. It is also important to learn the whole concept first before jumping into conclusion that Hilot is the Filipino version of Swedish Massage which i will insist that it is not.

If we are going to talk about Massage in Filipino, Massage is not called Hilot but it was called as Masahe; and Masahe is only one of the many Healing Modality of Hilot.

To justify the thinking of Hilot as a form of Massage, the practitioner must recognise the difference of the Hilot Masahe strokes to the 5 manipulative strokes of Swedish Massage.

Swedish Massage has 5 Manipulative strokes so as Hilot Masahe.

Habi Kaduwa Hilot Training 2018

For the whole week ends of February 2018, Hilot Academy have partnered with Kaduwa Movement Equality through Compassion (formerly Marriage Equality Advocates Philippines Inc.) in providing a livelihood training program to its member by sharing the Philippines Indigenous Healing Arts and Science which is Hilot. Hilot is the Traditional Medicine of the Philippines which most Filipino people are not aware of. Now-a-days, people seek the help of modern doctors to treat their illness and only few go to hilot for Traditional Healing. The modern society have been poisoned with commercialism, and even the teachings of Hilot have been commercialised by government agencies but neglect to preserve the cultural roots of Authentic Hilot.

In modern Hilot Schools run by the government, you will learn Hilot as similar to the western therapeutic massage which is contrary to authentic practice of Hilot which is not only limited to massage but it is a holistic integrative leaning of Operable Therapies.

True Hilot employs Halaman (herbs), Init (heat), Liwanag (Light), Orasyon ( Therapeutic Communication/ Positive Affirmations and Prayers) and Tubig (water) as its Treatment Modality.

Traditional Diagnostics

Effective cure is derived from effective diagnosis and Tawas is the traditional Filipino method of Diagnosing an ailment.

Before the arrival of the modern western medicine in our country, the Babaylans were the one who are the medical expert in providing healthcare to our ancestors. Aside from providing cure to any ailments, the Babaylan have our own method in investigating the cause of illness and that is through tawas.

Tawas demonstration

Tawas or the tradional method of scanning the cause of illness is employed before applying cure to the patient. The belief of the Binabaylan is that aside from Physical cause of illness it is also can be derived from emotional, mental, social and even spiritual cause.

Mark of Bentusa

Bentusa employs reverse pressure when we apply it to the skin. It creates vacum pressure that lifts the skin like in doing pisil manipulation.

In hilot masahe, pisil make space so that healthy blood can circulate well but the poor unhealthy blood will be caught up by the reverse pressure thus making mark on the skin.

This marks shows the unhealthy blood into the skin by dark red, violet to black mark. These marks are the poisnous blood that could be expelled out by applying hagod pressure.

It’s our 3rd day of Habi Kaduwa Hilot Training and new participants have added for certification.

On this day, we have shared the indication and contraindication of Hilot, the 5 elemental touch, dry hilot, pagsasala and bentusa.
